Foreseeing the future trend for the system-on-a-chip (SOC) and the missing gap between the SOC and interfaces, Macroblock devotes itself to be an "interface power IC provider" to fulfill the needs. As silicon technology is moving toward 0.15μm or below, millions of transistors can now be integrated into a single chip. All the required functions, such as CPU, memories...etc., can be merged into a "system chip". However, due to different voltage or current requirements, some devices are very difficult to be merged into a system chip. Macroblock defines its business scope in the area where requires high voltage or high current power IC design. Macroblock does not want to compete with SOC design houses, but to become an interface power IC supplier to complete the needs for system application.

Besides the power IC, Macroblock sees great opportunities in the transceiver ICs for infrared data communication where light emission and detection are involved. Light emitting diodes (LED) and laser diodes (LD) are two fascinating light emitting devices, which are used for transforming the electric data into a light signal, whereas the PIN diode is normally used for detecting the light signal. The light signal detected by the PIN diode is reconverted into the electric data by using the trans-impedance amplifier (TIA). Therefore, the whole data conversion processes involve in a key component, i.e. the transceiver IC, which has LED/LD driver and trans-impedance amplifier included. Foreseeing the future trend for wireless infrared and fiber optic communications, Macroblock would like to focus on LED/LD drivers and trans-impedance amplifiers, and use most of its strengths to provide customers best quality transceivers.

Accept Request for ASIC Design

Through continuous innovation in the circuit and device design, Macroblock provides customers with unique but low cost solutions. The advantage of doing ASIC design is to minimize the efforts on the sales/marketing, while using most of Macroblock's strengths in the circuit design to fulfill customer's needs.

Several technical patents are currently being filed, which demonstrates Macroblock's technical ability. As the new semiconductor factory are being built in the world, it becomes very important to manage the logistics efficiently and globally.
